Self-help author and former Disney distribution executive Dave Hollis have passed away at the age of 47.

Former wife and best-selling author Rachel Hollis released a statement in which she described the family’s state of shock.

‘My heart is too devastated to find the words,’ she sobbed.

An unnamed family member told US media that Hollis had just been hospitalized for “heart difficulties,” but that the cause of his death was still unknown.

On Saturday night, he passed away at his home outside of Austin, Texas.

His ex-wife Rachel Hollis asked for prayers for his children as they “attempt to navigate through the unspeakable.”

Before leaving his position as Disney’s president of distribution, which he held for seven years, Hollis worked for the corporation for a total of seventeen years before finally leaving in 2018 to join his ex-wife in her professional endeavors.

While at Disney, Hollis oversaw the production of blockbuster films including “Frozen” and “Black Panther,” and he also played a role in the relaunch of the “Star Wars” franchise.

He told the AP that he had hit a professional rut and that the job he was doing with his wife now felt like his “calling.”

Rachel Hollis, who has four children with her husband Dave, is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and author of the New York Times bestseller Girl, Wash your Face.

Her comments, such as calling American abolitionist Harriet Tubman “unrelatable,” have gotten her into trouble in the past.

The couple collaborated on several projects together, including a live stream, a conference, and a podcast, all of which focused on their relationship. In 2020, the couple plans to divorce.

Author of three books, including the self-help tome, Get Out of Your Own Way, Dave Hollis is no stranger to the written word.
